Miss Alabama Liz Cochran

The Miss Alabama Pageant is the competition that selects the representative for Alabama to compete for the title of Miss America. Held in June of each year in Birmingham, the competition awarded over $100,000 in cash college scholarships to its participants in 2009. Additionally, significant in-kind college scholarships are made available to contestants each year.

Liz Cochran of Helena is Miss Alabama 2009. Liz is a dance and pre-med major at Birmingham-Southern College. Liz held the local title of Miss Hoover when she won Miss Alabama last June, and will compete for the title of Miss America 2010 in January in Las Vegas.  Her personal platform is With Every Beat: Cardiovascular Disease Awareness and Prevention.
